Mark Verhagen
Founder
Mark Verhagen holds degrees in Econometrics and Sociology, and is currently finishing his PhD at Oxford University. Prior to founding Bright Box, Mark provided statistical expertise in both a professional and academic context. His professional clients include start-ups, NGO’s and corporations spanning a wide variety of sectors. His academic work has been covered by global media outlets like the FT, New York Times, Economist and others. His work has been used by global institutions like the World Bank, OECD, and policymakers across various governments.
Lucas van der Wall
Founder
Lucas van der Wall holds a degree in Business Mathemathics and Informatics from the Vrije Universiteit with a specialization in Computational Intelligence, where he worked primarily on computer vision applications. In this role, he has developed methods to identify deepfake technology in videos. After his studies, Lucas has worked multiple years as a data scientist where he developed and validated various machine learning models. Prior to founding Bright Box he has worked at both large corporations, service provides, as well as in a freelance capacity.
